Happy 30th Birthday JB

Today was JB's 30th bday!!! He is ridiculous bc he acts like he is turning 100! I can't wait till he turns 40 lol:)! Well, when we got married he told me he had one major request... he wanted 2 children by age 30. You can definately say MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Here he is with his 2 cutie pie kiddos at dinner at his favorite restaurant Ojeda's! YUMMO! Disclaimer: The request was 2 children by age 30. There was no discussion of giving birth to ANY children after age 30. In simpler terms...I'M DONE!

Vacation Bible School 2009

These pics are a little late but better late than never. 2 weeks ago Kate was able to go to VBS for the first time! The last couple of years she has been too young and there weren't any activities for her age. She had a blast this year and talked about it for 2 weeks. The theme was Boomerang Express and she learned all about Australia. She got 3 blue snow cones that week!
Sitting with her class waiting for the trains!

Ready to ride the choo-choo! (she looks sooo serious)

Riding the choo-choo with Mrs. Margarita and Friends

Riding on the ponies!
Of course she learned all about Jesus and Peter (the fisherman) as well!

Christie and Josh Wedding

This was our 4th and final wedding of the summer! We have had a wedding marathon! This weeks wedding was for Christie and Josh. Christie and her sister Katie are my sisters from another mother. We have grown up together and I love them dearly. Christie has dreamed of getting married just like Cinderella ever since we were kids! I am soooo excited that she met and married a true Prince Charming! JB and JT waiting for the festivities to begin!
Miss Kate has had her fill of wedding festivities so she wasn't very still or quiet for this one:)

Christie's bridemaids all wore dresses in the colors of Disney Princesses and of course in true Texas fashion she added in a little cowgirl style with the boots!

Here are the beautiful details on her Cinderella dress!

She ripped off her veil to give her Prince Charming a huge KISS!

Fun Wedding Festivities

We had many many many fun wedding activities leading up to Jess and Cory's wedding so I thought I would share a few fun snap shots with you.

Here is Jess and I at her bridal shower!

The bride with her bridesmaids and flower girl! There is a funny story behind this shower... I was actually hosting with her aunt so the night before I was preparing some food. I decided to make jalapeno poppers from scratch. I washed a de-seeded about 25 jalapenos when I noticed my hands were burning. I tried washing them but they continued to burn more and more. It was 2am and my hands were on fire! I didn't want to wake anyone so I got on the internet and typed in jalapeno burn. To my complete surprise there is actually something called this! Apparently you are always suppose to wear gloves when handling fresh jalapenos. I tried washing my hands 10 times, covered them with vinegar and lemon juice, washed them with baking soda, lathered them with hand sanitizer, and soaked them in milk. Nothing works but time! I learned this lesson the hard way. I did not go to sleep that night bc I had to keep my hands in ice cold water just so I wouldn't cry. The next morning I called my mom and told her what happened so she rushed over to finish all of the food prep for me. I ended up walking around for 2 days with ice packs in my hands and had to take pain meds just so I could sleep! I am NEVER EVER touching a fresh jalapeno again!

Kate and Cadence! We have a pre-arranged marriage for these 2 cutie pies!

Bridesmaids Luncheon!

Our tanks that we wore to our work out class and getting ready the day of the wedding. They were made by me :).

Very colorful pretty ladies!

1st pic with the complete group! Rehearsal dinner!

We had such a blast and I am going to miss seeing everyone sooo often!

Jessica and Cory's Wedding

On July 11th my best friend Jessica got married. She married Cory Bell so she is now Mrs. Bell! We have been best friends since the 7th grade, I was matron of honor and Miss Kate was her flower girl. We talked almost everyday the whole year she was planning the wedding and sometimes up to 5 times a day! It was such an honor to be a part of this special day for her and Cory. Here is Miss Kate admiring herself in the mirror!
The sad thing is she only imitates what she see's others do, so where do you think she got this pose from?

Spinning in her dress like a princess!

Love those cheese's!

Posing with her flower petals.

Looking out the window.

Taking my walk down the aisle! The last time I walked down this aisle was 4 years ago when JB and I got married. It was very special for me to see my best friend walk down the same aisle.

We actually practiced Kate's walk down the aisle for a whole week. She did a great job at practice when there was no one else there. When we tried it for rehearsal there were a lot of people and she would walk about half way down and then start to cry. She would always finish her walk though and come strait to me. Once she got to me she stopped and everything was okay. When wedding day came she did the same thing. So I guess you could say she did it how we practiced! We were very proud of her for finishing her job! Funny story- I cried the whole way down the aisle the day Jb and I got married so I guess it is daughter like mother! Once again, it was very special to see my daughter walk down the same aisle her Daddy and I walked down 4 years ago. That was the begining of every picture you see on this blog today!

Pretty bridesmaids!

Kate and Cory doing their dollar dance!

JB was such a trooper to take care of everything while I was busy busy busy with wedding details!

Cory is a great guy and I couldn't have picked anyone better for my best friend! Any guys who aren't scared off by me and Jess are worth it!
Miss Kate may not have cared much for walking down the aisle but she loved shaking it at the reception! She was quite the dancer and everyone was very amused and entertained that she came out of her shell in such a BIG way. She didn't get to stay long but she made the most out of her time!

JT's 6 month check up

I took JT in for his 6 month check-up on Friday. He is a very healthy growing boy. Here are his stats... 27in. long, 16lbs. 11oz., he is in the 75th percentile for height and 50th for weight. The doctor said he actually only gained 1.5 lbs. since his 4 month check up and he wants him to gain close to 4 lbs. by his 9 month check up. We aren't too worried about all of that though. Have you seen this boy??? I don't think he has any eating or weight issues to worry about :). I told the Dr. that he eats all of the time and that we still feed him once or twice during the night. His response was, "Are you tired yet?" Of course we are both exhausted but we can't stand to hear our baby boy cry! He told us to try the good old trick of letting him cry for 3-5 nights and that the problem would be solved. We did this trick with Kate about this same age and it worked like a charm. She would wake up and cry for 15 min. and then go back to sleep and it only lasted 3 days. JT cries for a bit longer and wakes up more than once but tonight will be our 3rd night so we will let you know if it works this time around. It drives me crazy to let him cry bc I just want to pick him up and hold him! I know that all 4 of us need the sleep though so we are willing to give it a chance :(. I hope you enjoy the video below. JT is trying his best to crawl but he gets very frustrated. Sometimes he just gives up and does the good old belly flop to get to his toys:). OH, JT cut his 1st tooth the day he turned 6 months and he cut his 2nd tooth this week! He is doing very well but he loves to chew on EVERYTHING!

JT is 6 months old today

WOW! It is hard to believe that our little boy is 6 months old today! His 6 month check-up isn't until next Friday so we will have to wait until then to give you all of his official stats. We wanted to share a few photos with you so you can see how much he is growing... We love this one bc it shows of his red hair and of course the American flag!
We realize that not everyone will be a fan of the colorized version so here is a black and white version...

and a sepia version.

Can you believe he is already trying to crawl?!? So far he just gets on his hands and knees and rocks but he is very close.

Kate and JT posing for Mommy!

I am going to take off any second!

I can't imagine what this big guy will be doing in the next 6 months. He has grown so incredibly fast! Unfortunately, this growing boy still requires ALOT of nurishment so we haven't had that full night of sleep just yet.
